Our link with the country of Cameroon started in nearly twenty years ago when church members Jon and Sandra Blackwell went to West Africa to assist in the work of Bible Translation. In 2004 they settled in the village of Bamunka, began to devise an alphabet for the local spoken language and teach people how to read and write their own language. In 2007, another church member, Mick Toolan, visited this work and got a vision for helping people to get clean water supplies. He began a well digging programme. Some years later yet another member, visiting the water programme was herself moved to commence a work of medical aid to women in the area. Thus God’s call to one couple has multiplied and provided an opportunity for us as a church to demonstrate the Grace of God in many ways.
